Course description

A practical course covering still life, portraits using lighting, location photography including local visits and finally a brief introduction to Adobe Photoshop.

What the course will cover

Lighting techniques and styles. Using basic lights to their best advantage. Location photography to local parks Looking and discussing the images taken.

Teaching and learning activities

You will be taught in using first hand instruction and hands on guidance. Use of computers and visual aids such as the white board. Lecture.

What you will be able to do by the end of the course (Course objectives)

1. Use your cameras in a studio situation. 2. How to light objects such as glass in a still life situation. 3. Photographing items for sale on eBay etc. 4. Take portraits using the type of lighting you may have at home. 5. Have a basic knowledge of what is possible using Adobe Photoshop with a hands on taster.

Examination or qualification (if applicable) including costs. The course fee usually includes examination costs: registration with the exam board, certification and administration fees. If the fees are not included, the brochure will tell you this.

Additional information - General

At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor will ask you to complete a Student Learning Record (SLR) and agree your personal learning goals. All documents are a requirement of the Funding Agencies. All students on courses funded by the SFA or the EFA must complete a Learning Agreement and SLR.
