Course description

A fun and lively course devised to give you to master basic Chinese language in conversation, reading and writing. Explore language and master conversations in different situations. In addition, you will learn to read and write in Chinese characters.

What you need to join the class

Basic knowledge of the Chinese pronunciation (PinYin) and some basic words.

What the course will cover

Conversation in everyday situations. Basic reading and writing skills. Interesting Chinese culture and history.

Teaching and learning activities

Through various activities including reading, writing, listening, role-play, discussions and games.

What you will be able to do by the end of the course (Course objectives)

Know the basic knowledge of Chinese language 1.To read and write basic Chinese Characters (30-50) in conversations Conversation in everyday situations 1.To introduce you and your friends perfectly. 2.To ask the whose things are these. 3.To ask if somebody have got something. 4.To ask the family information about your friends. 5.To tell the date, week, month, etc. 6.To ask how to go to a place. 7.To describe how to go to a place. 8.To introduce about your room. (including the furniture and where they are placed). 9.To describe the directions. Interesting Chinese Characters. Explore the modern Chinese culture.

Examination or qualification (if applicable) including costs. The course fee usually includes examination costs: registration with the exam board, certification and administration fees. If the fees are not included, the brochure will tell you this.

Students should expect to study for up to one hour each week.

Additional information - General

At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor will ask you to complete a Student Learning Record (SLR) and agree your personal learning goals. All documents are a requirement of the Funding Agency. All students on courses funded by the ESFA must complete a Learning Agreement and SLR.
