Course description

You will explore a variety of watercolour techniques both traditional and experimental and use them in your paintings to create texture and form. You will mix and match colours accurately and work from a wide variety of subjects. Through this you will paint with more confidence and begin to create a personal style.

What the course will cover

You will explore a variety of watercolour techniques, both traditional and experimental and use them in your paintings to create texture and form. You will mix and match colours accurately and work from a variety of subjects. Through this you will begin to paint with more confidence and begin develop a personal style.

Teaching and learning activities

You will be taught by demonstration, one to one tuition, hand outs and group discussion.

What you will be able to do by the end of the course (Course objectives)

You will be able to: 1. Draw and paint with more confidence. 2. Mix colours accurately. 3. Use a variety of watercolour techniques.

Examination or qualification (if applicable) including costs. The course fee usually includes examination costs: registration with the exam board, certification and administration fees. If the fees are not included, the brochure will tell you this.

What you need to bring to the first class

1. Watercolour paints. 2. Brushes. 3. Paper and a palette.

Additional information - General

At the beginning of the course, you will have an induction to the College and the course. Your tutor will ask you to complete a Student Learning Record (SLR) and agree your personal learning goals. All documents are a requirement of the Funding Agencies. All students on courses funded by the SFA or the EFA must complete a Learning Agreement and SLR.
